Season of Celebrations

The month of September marks the beginning of the festival season in India, and just like every year, the celebrations were marked with devotional fervour, fun-filled activities and delicious food this year too.

At SKM, we celebrated the birthdays of two of our boys, Manikanta from 8th Std and Sridhar from 7th. Tiny tot, Balaji from 4th Std., came back to SKM after being home throughout the pandemic. He was joyfully received by all of us at Sai Krushna Mandir. Our volunteer, Brother Venkat, also had a fun-filled birthday this year with the boys at SKM.

The little Krushnas at SKM took the lead and actively participated in making delicious prasadam and special dishes, along with impressive decorations in Swami’s room for the Sri Krushna Janmashtami festival.

The classrooms continued to get a new look, thanks to huge efforts from our volunteers Shankar Sir, Jagan Sir, Shabina Madam, and our 9th Std Student Vishnu. Apart from continuing with painting the benches, the windows of the classrooms were fitted with new glasses as a result of meticulous planning from these volunteers.

Physical classes resume after one year of online classes due to Covid-19.

The long wait for physical classes ended, and finally teachers and the kids of classes 7th to 10th were welcomed to the school on 1st of September. Online classes continue to take place for the lower class students.

This Ganesh Chathurthi gave the opportunity to the SKM boys to get hands-on experience with clay making. Krishna, a potter from a nearby village, was gracious enough to volunteer and share his expertise with the kids to hand-hold and guide them in making clay Ganesha idols for the festival.

Dr Chandra, our volunteer who takes Bal Vikas classes for the students online, had an enjoyable experience by visiting SKM for the first time, and was able to spend quality time with the SKM family directly. Thanks to Madam, the students at SKM were also super excited to receiving a TT Table. If ever you find them missing, it is probably because they are busy playing TT in their room.
