Stepping Into The Light

The months of July and August saw many volunteers initiating activities  like online computer class by brother Dinesh Talreja, enabling kids to improve their typing skills and get basic computer knowledge as it’s the need of the hour. Brother Dinesh Goel coducts Hindi classes on Saturdays for the students of class 9 to help them read and write better. Thursdays are now more fun with sister Jyothi teaching  drawing to the kids who are keen to develop this skill. Our committed volunteers don’t just teach but also ensure that the children are equipped with the right materials and stationary to achieve the  goal.

Our virtual mentors also took a leap this year in giving personal attention to each student by encouraging them not just in academics but also in co-curricular activities like drawing, singing and elocution. Some of them also helped students improve their confidence by getting them to record short speeches and sharing the same with the whole school.

The Benches of class 9 and 10 got a new look as our ever enthusiastic volunteer Mr Shankar and team painted them brand new. Sister Jyothi, who is an artist, supported the activity by teaching the volunteers some painting techniques and providing some tools required for the same.

The streets of Hosadoddi were illuminated by LED lights on the eve of Guru Purnima

Just as the Guru removes darkness and illuminates the mind, so too the streets of Hosadoddi and Sadhanapalya villages were illuminated by 30 LED lights on the eve of Guru Purnima. The once dark streets now brighten the paths of all those who pass by. Around 60 needy families received grocery kits on the auspicious occasion.

In fond memory of our beloved teacher Late Mr. Ravi Subramanian, our teachers, students and volunteers conducted Narayan seva in and around their respective homes. His family was also supported by an emergency relief fund facilitated by several volunteers  who came forward in support to enable the school management to fulfill this.

Independence day was celebrated by the students, teachers and volunteers in the school by hoisting the flag and distributing grocery kits to  around 45 needy families.
